Dylan Larkin requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings and expanded his list of acceptable destinations to include the Utah Mammoth, who possess the assets Detroit is seeking: a center, proven scorer, quality prospect, and 2026 first-round pick. Projected trade packages include Utah sending J.J. Peterka, the No. 19 pick in the current NHL draft, and prospect Caleb Desnoyers, though Utah may be unwilling to part with prospects Tij Iginla or Desnoyers. Utah is also reportedly interested in Detroit goalie Sebastian Cossa.

utahs got some serious cap space so maybe they can throw larkin a decent raise but idk if detroit's really shopping him tbh

idk if detroit's really shopping larkin either but i'm starting to think they need to get something for him or we're just waiting for the deadline and hoping he signs after

Not like we haven't been waiting for the deadline for years now. Just gonna get him walk at season's end and call it a day.

Reminds me of the '97 club, waiting for something to happen at deadline. But let's be honest, if we trade Larkin now, we gotta get quality back in return. Can't just expect another walk-away contract like last time.
