Dylan Larkin officially requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings and had submitted a list of only three teams he would accept a trade to due to his full no-trade clause. According to Pierre LeBrun, Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman met with Larkin's agent Pat Brisson and asked to expand the original three-team list.

I'm not sure "held hostage" is the right term here, dcat - Larkin wanted out and expressed his trade preferences within his no-trade clause. That's how these things work.

Kid, you're right on. Larkin used his no-trade clause correctly, and I commend him for being up-front about where he'd like to go. Now it's up to Holland to make a deal that works for both the Wings and Dylan; no use getting all riled up about it, SuburbanWings.
