Rochette's got decent two-way instincts but I need to see him actually stick with his assignments in the defensive zone before I get excited.

One year deal is low risk which makes sense for a depth forward, but we're basically banking on him filling a middle-six role that could be better addressed if Yzerman swings for a proven commodity in the next window.

Kid, I think we got one good signing out of the way, at least some folks around here are paying attention to the depth chart for once! It's been too long since we've had a bit more stability down low, maybe this kid can be just what the doctor ordered to help out our prospects take the next step.
