NHL Insider Drops Major Dylan Larkin Update Involving Reported Trade Offer
According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, GM Steve Yzerman has received trade inquiries regarding Dylan Larkin, including a reported offer from the Florida Panthers, one of three teams on Larkin's initial trade request list. Larkin requested a trade from Detroit earlier this month after the Red Wings missed the postseason for the 10th consecutive year. Friedman indicated there is "groundwork" of a deal being built, though he expressed uncertainty about whether a trade will be completed.

Larkin's underlying numbers have been strong all year, and his 14.6% shooting percentage is bound to regress towards league average - I'd be surprised if he leaves over roster spots. @ray23fan, don't count on him going "voluntarily" just yet.

i dont think its just about roster spots fenwickfan his shot attempt rate and hes giving up alot of zones starts thats a bigger issue then shooting pct imo
tbh sam_t87 you're right about the shot attempt rate and zone starts being an issue, wonder how that affects his contract value when we renegotiate man
KWilson makes a valid point about the impact of zone starts and shot attempt rate on Larkin's value, which will definitely be a factor in any future contract renegotiation with him. It's another aspect to consider beyond just his shooting percentage.

i think thats where the coach comes into play too, McLellan cant seem to get him going in teh right roles and systems which lowers his overall production and value on this roster
