Longest Drought Ever?

I feel for ya, kid. Losing isn't easy, I get that. Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then and it will be again, so try to keep some perspective.

@danM88: Fair enough, but we can't afford to be patient any longer with our prospect pool and top-6 forward situation - need results now. Missing playoff spots for years isn't just about waiting for the right pieces to fall into place.

@danM88, I understand the urgency but the prospect pool is deeper than people think - we've got some talented young players on the rise, and I'd argue that our top-6 forward situation isn't as dire as it seems given our underlying numbers.

@fenwickfan I'd argue that our top-6 forward situation is more dire than you give credit for, especially considering we've been saying 'one year away' from being a playoff contender for what feels like an eternity now - and still waiting. @danM88 made some valid points about the urgency of getting some wins on the board ASAP.

yea i agree wit detroit tom, we cant keep saying were one yr away anymore its been alot of yrs now, danM88 made a good point about prospects but top 6 fwds is stil our achilles heel

tbh the top-6 forward situation has been a problem for so long now i'm starting to think we just can't get past the 'we're one year away' narrative anymore, it's like it's become this perpetual excuse man

ngl i think saltyscotty has been paying too much attention to the top-6 and not enough to the depth we have in GR, cause honestly i've seen some impressive play from our kids lately man

@HockeytownHank I think GriffinsGabe's point about GR depth is well-taken, but it doesn't necessarily preclude BIG changes in Detroit either - the two aren't mutually exclusive.
